Seniors across the country are graduating, and it is time to enjoy your final summer before starting college. How should you use your last summer before continuing your education? Here are a few suggestions.
- Attend your college’s orientation – Whether it is in person or virtual, this is a great way to get acquainted with your new school.
- Use your student portal – As soon as your student profile is activated, use it to explore the features available to students on your college’s website.
- Meet your roommate – Some schools will provide students with contact info for the student you will room with at the dorm. If this is true for your school, get in touch and start getting to know each other.
- Plan your room – Acquire any furnishings that you need to make it both comfortable and a quality learning environment.
- Make some money – Even if you are getting free money for college, you are never going to be upset about having a few extra dollars in your pocket while away at school.
- Have fun! – It is your last summer before your next big adventure, so enjoy it! Especially take time with your family and friends who will not be attending the same school as you. Make some nice memories you can reflect on if you experience a little homesickness during the first semester.
