There’s a big rush at the beginning of the school year for students to fill in limited spots in their favorite high school clubs. How can you decide which ones are best for you and still join before there are no spots left? Here are a few tips:
- Make a list of clubs you are interested in – First, you will have to find a list of all the available clubs at your school. Then, narrow it down to the ones you are interested in. Remember not to take too long!
- Attend informational meetings – Most clubs will have a meeting to introduce you to the program and try to encourage students to join. This is a vital part of the decision-making process, so only skip it if you are determined to join a particular club and are worried spots will fill up without an informational meeting.
- Bring a buddy – You’re going to have more fun joining a club with a friend. If the club ends up not meeting your expectations, at least you have a pal with you who can help make it more bearable. Remember, if you decide to quit a club, there may not be a lot of options left to switch to (at least not many good ones).
