Sending SAT Scores:
- Access Your Account: Go to the College Board website and log in to your account.
- Select Your Scores: Navigate to the “SAT Scores” section and choose which scores you want to send. You can send all scores or select specific test dates.
- Choose Colleges: Search for and select the colleges or universities to which you want to send your scores. Each institution has a unique code.
- Submit and Pay: Review your selections, then submit your score report request. There is a fee for sending scores, though you get a limited number of free score sends if you use them within a certain period after taking the test.
- Deadlines: Be mindful of the colleges’ deadlines to ensure your scores are received on time. It usually takes about two weeks for scores to be sent.
Sending ACT Scores:
- Access Your Account: Log in to your account on the ACT website.
- Select Your Scores: Choose which test dates’ scores you want to send. ACT allows you to send scores from specific test dates.
- Find Colleges: Add the colleges you’re applying to by searching for their codes or names.
- Payment: Pay the fee for each score report request. Fees apply for each report sent.
- Review and Send: Double-check your order for accuracy, then submit your score report request. Allow at least two weeks for colleges to receive your scores.
Sending AP Scores:
- Access AP Scores: Log in to your College Board account to access your AP scores.
- Send Scores to Colleges: From your account, you can select the “Send Scores” feature. You get one free score send every year you take an AP exam, which must be used by a June deadline.
- Select Scores: Choose which scores you want to send. You can send your entire score report or withhold specific scores if you prefer.
- Find Colleges: Add the institutions by their codes or names.
- Submit Your Request: After reviewing, submit your request. If you’re sending scores outside of the free score send window, you’ll need to pay a fee.
- Timing: It’s important to send AP scores in early summer to ensure they’re considered for credit or placement.
Important Tips:
- Always double-check college and university requirements for score submissions, as some institutions have specific guidelines.
- Consider using your free score sends strategically, especially for the SAT and AP exams.
- Keep track of confirmation emails or receipts as proof of submission.
- Planning ahead is key, especially during busy application seasons, to ensure all scores are received well before application deadlines.
By carefully following these steps and planning ahead, students can ensure their standardized test scores are accurately and timely submitted to their chosen colleges and universities.
