If you are researching colleges online rather than seeing them in person, it usually comes down to either not having enough time to see all the schools on your list or not having the resources to visit. Either way, the pandemic may have done you a favor in regard to researching colleges online. Let’s take a look at a few of the best things you can do to learn about colleges before applying without having to leave your home.

  • Virtual Tours – Thanks to the pandemic, schools across the county had to improve the quality of their virtual tours. You can use this to your advantage if you are unable to tour a college in person. While not all virtual tours are equal, most are better than they were just a few years ago.
  • Student Reviews – There are many sites where students can review both the school itself as well as individual instructors. If you already have an idea of your intended major, this can help you to get a better idea of what your college experience could be like.
  • Student Testimonials – Some students will write testimonials for schools if they have a truly excellent experience. Again, try to focus on testimonials from students who studied in the same major you are hoping to have.
