College Summer Programs for High School Students

Some of the most famous colleges in the country offer summer programs for high school students who are interested in entering their program or who just want to get a jumpstart on college. Here are a few of our favorite summer programs:

  • Harvard – If you are graduating any time in the next three years, you can be considered for a Harvard summer program. Don’t let these 7-week courses fool you. They pack in a ton of info and give a real Harvard experience. A number of the courses can even be taken online if you are not in a position to go to Harvard for the summer.
  • Cornell – This is another university that lets students in their last three years of high school get a taste of college. However, if you are in your junior or senior year, you have an expanded list of classes available to you. Courses last 3-6 weeks, and many offer online options for students who can’t spend their summer near Cornell.
  • George Washington – You can apply for these courses during your last three years of school. Some even offer college credit.
