Lori Hamilton

Lori Hamilton, having previously lived in Boston, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia. Lori earned her BA from the University of Notre Dame and her Masters in Education from the University of Southern California.

Prior to entering the college admissions field, Lori taught history, government, and English. She also has worked with nonprofits and with children on the autism spectrum.

As an Essay Specialist, Lori helps high school students write authentic, revelatory application essays. With over a decade of editing and writing experience, she walks students through the entire essay writing process, from brainstorming ideas to perfecting a final draft. She has worked with students on both the Common and Coalition essays, as well as supplemental essays from an exhaustive list of institutions and the UC Prompts. Fully committed to developing good writers and strong, memorable essays, Lori labors to ensure this important part of the student’s application strengthens his/her complete portfolio.

In addition to a passion for education, Lori enjoys politics, working out, and reading. She has two energetic boys, both of whom help hone her patience for her work as an educator.
