Irene Chung

Irene is originally from Folsom, California and has lived in the Los Angeles area for several years. She holds a Master’s degree in Counseling from San Diego State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of California, San Diego.

With over ten years of experience working in college counseling, Irene has a passion for guiding students in reaching their goals. She has worked with students from all over the U.S. and the world, helping them gain admission to some of the top universities, including Stanford, Cal Tech, Brown, Columbia, Johns Hopkins, Cornell, and many more. From Ivy League schools to small liberal arts colleges, Irene has extensive knowledge of the admissions process.

Her strengths truly lie in building meaningful connections with students and finding creative ways to explore careers and develop unique profiles. She recognizes each students’ potential and pushes them to delve deeper into their passions, empowering them to take ownership of the process.

Irene started her college counseling career here at College Planning Source and has returned as our Head College Counselor.  

In her free time, Irene enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring the city, and being a foodie.
