You know that there are plenty of extracurricular activities available for students who want to make their student profile stand out. Perhaps you have already joined a school club, signed up for some volunteer work, applied for an internship, and taken other important steps. Today, we want to help you take things to the next level.

These are a few things that highly motivated students can do in order to make your student profile impossible to ignore:

  • Build powerful online profiles – Sure, universities aren’t necessarily looking for influencers, and they certainly aren’t interested in students who garner the wrong kind of attention online. But if you can build a following on social media for something the university views as valuable (think sciences, math, history, the arts, etc.), then you may have something going for you.
  • Become an entrepreneur – You can start a business during high school even if you intend to go to a university for further education. In fact, the entrepreneurial spirit is something universities seek. They would love to see one of their students become the next Jeff Bezos or Bill Gates. Plus, running a successful business requires a lot of self-discipline and business sense, which will also attract a school to your profile.
  • Publish your research – You’re going to be doing a lot of research when working toward your degree, so why not get a jump start and write a definitive paper on something you are passionate about now. If you are already published when you apply, the school will be hopeful that you will continue your success after graduation.
