You want to be sure to close out the school year strong and post scores on your finals that will keep your profile impressive for colleges. That’s why we’ve prepared this list of the top study tips. Here are the DOs and DON’Ts to ensure you are at peak performance when you sit down at the desk to take your final exams this year.
- DO study in intervals – Cramming is out. Interval studying is in. You want study periods to last at least 20 minutes to be effective, but don’t study for more than an hour in one sitting.
- DON’T leave it up to chance – Schedule your study periods to ensure you get in enough time to prepare. Otherwise, you will either end up unprepared or cramming. Neither of those choices will be good for your scores.
- DO take care of your health – Eating well, exercising, and gently plenty of sleep are all sure ways to perform at your peak mentally.
- DON’T let your phone distract you – Use a do not disturb setting on your electronic devices so that you are not distracted by a text or email. Remember that you will be studying for brief periods of time, so no one will be waiting long for you to reply.
