Organizing Your Life During College Applications Season 1

College applications season can leave even the most organized of students with a perpetual nagging feeling they are forgetting something. There is just so much to keep track of and to accomplish! Here are a few tips to help you stay organized so that you don’t miss anything and can regain some peace of mind.

  • Separate applications by school – Folders are cheap. You can even color-code them by which schools are reach, safety, or target schools. Make sure each school has its own folder so you can organize things like your application, drafts of your essay, recommendation letters, and the like.
  • Don’t procrastinate – When we have a mountain of work ahead of us, sometimes we can lapse into inactivity due to the stress of it all. Don’t do that with your college applications. The best way to reduce the pressure is to stay ahead of the game. If you’re already behind, start catching up today!
  • Set phone reminders – Your digital calendar should be reminding you a month or more before due dates so that there is no rush at all.
  • Sign up for a live webinar – Get more help organizing your college applications with a live webinar from College Planning Source.
