Choosing a college major can put a lot of stress on a student. You may feel like you have to plan the entire rest of your life when you are just getting started. To help you relax and make a good decision, we’re going to finish the sentence in the title of our article in three different ways.
When choosing a college major, always remember…
- It’s okay to start out undecided – There are plenty of college courses you can take that will fit into a bunch of different majors. So you may not even lose out on any of your tuition fees. Starting out undecided is a lot more affordable than switching your major after you’ve taken a lot of specific classes that won’t transfer to your new field of study.
- You’re not necessarily choosing your career – Yes, you are going to look for work related to your degree. However, statistics show that only about a quarter of college grads work in a career that has something to do with their degree. The degree shows you put in the work. You only have to worry about a specific undergraduate major in certain careers.
- You can do your research online – This can help you to make a good decision. You may even be able to find some webinars related to college major selection.
