You may dread taking standardized tests, but it is something that simply needs to be done if you hope to further your education after high school. Here are the three types of standardized tests you need to know about, each of which has its own unique benefits when it comes to applying for college.
- The SAT – It is tough to be a high schooler and not know what the SAT is. This is the standardized test of choice for some of the most prestigious schools in the country, and getting a perfect score is the holy grail of the college hopeful world. In recent years, it has become possible to customize the SAT in order to take subjects that you want to show off on your college applications, so choose wisely.
- The ACT – This is the other standardized test that a university may prefer over the SAT. Be sure to look into the schools you are applying for to see which they prefer (Although taking both just to be sure is a good idea).
- Advanced Placements (AP) Exams – AP tests can get you college credits while you are still in high school. It’s a good way to shave little bit off of the overall cost of your schooling or to save you from having to take summer classes to graduate on time.
